Ex-Manchester United legend Andy Cole told Goal.com that Alexis Sanchez ‘is trying too hard.’

Since Sanchez signed for United in January, he has failed to live up to the hype. The Chilean’s recent performances have caused United fans to feel concerned with Sanchez massively underperforming.

However, former Red Devils striker Andy Cole thinks Sanchez will ‘turn around his form.’

Since Alexis’ move from Arsenal, which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way,  the 29-year-old has only managed to notch a single goal in ten appearances.

Numerous outlets such as The Sun have reported that United are fearful that Sanchez will turn into the next Ángel Di María. With the Chilean being on a reported £600,00 a week, it’s unlikely United will want to be patient.

Though Sanchez has come under fire in recent weeks, so has manager José Mourinho as Man United crashed out of the Champions League against Sevilla.

After the game, the Portuguese manager spoke about The Red Devils Champions League performances since 2011 where he mentioned how they haven’t got past the quarter-final stage since the 2011 final.

This angered many United fans who are now calling for the 55-year-old’s head. Matters were not helped when Mourinho publically said that he wasn’t happy with Luke’s performance against Brighton.

Mourinho has been accused of bullying the English left-back and this has only led to more pressure being pilled onto “the special one.”
