Kylian Mbappe scored 15 times in his first full season at senior level, and with a price tag of £160m, AS Monaco have made their stance clear.
It’s a transfer which you would buying potential. He is already being compared to Thiery Henry, a French great, as of his style of play in which he runs at the defender with pace – and velocity in his dribbling. He just glides past defenders with ease and tucks the ball away with the composure of a Henry in his prime, some would argue.
City have shown interest in Mbappe – and he would fit the bill at the Etihad, but at that price, you’d want him to be the number nine for the next ten years.
L’Equipe in France revealed that Mbappe wouldn’t move to United because of their style of play, so that could suggest he is a fan of a more attractive way of playing – and that is certainly the philosophy of the Blues boss.
