Inter Milan are weighing up a £35m offer for Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, according to the Daily Express.
Mane joined the Reds last summer from Southampton for £34m and instantly became a key player for Jurgen Klopp.
His pace alongside Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho was a nightmare for defenders as Liverpool qualified for the Champions League for the first time since 2014.
Mane was named Liverpool’s player of the season after scoring 13 goals in 26 games as well as registering five assists.
Inter Milan are preparing to lose key man Ivan Perisic this summer as the Croatian international has been heavily linked with Manchester United and seemingly has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
The Express reports that the Italian giants have identified Mane as the perfect replacement if Perisic decides to leave the club.
Inter have spent £30m on recruits this summer with Milan Skriniar, Facundo Colidio and Borja Valera joining the club but have failed to match the spending power of their rivals AC Milan; who have brought in nine players at a transfer outlay of £160m.
Signing Mane would be a huge statement of intent as Inter look to return to the top of the Italian game, but they face a huge struggle to convince Liverpool to sell.
Their pursuit of Mane could be a huge blow to Klopp who is already dealing with Barcelona’s interest in Philippe Coutinho.
The German is adamant the Brazilian will not be sold and would probably say the same about his Senegalese star.
Mane featured in Liverpool’s 3-0 pre-season friendly win over Hertha Berlin making his return from an injury that he suffered at the end of last season.
