Chelsea fans will be relieved to hear N’Golo Kante has reiterated his desire to stay at the club despite interest from Paris St Germain.

The Frenchman moved to Chelsea last year after winning the Premier League with Leicester and made it two titles in two years in Antonio Conte’s debut season at the club.

During his time in England, he lifted the PFA Player of the Year award and was recently named in the FIFA World Pro XI.

The Parisiens had reportedly identified Kante as a summer transfer target in order to boost their chances in the Champions League next season.

However, the midfielder seems uninterested in a move back to Ligue 1.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: “I am at home. It is my club, I am a Chelsea player.

“This is my second year at Chelsea. After what happened last season, it was a very good one for us because we got to celebrate winning the title.

“In the second season, I have got to play in the Champions League and we are going again to finish in the top four.

“We will fight until the end to finish in the top four and to get in a Champions League position.

“We also have the FA Cup to play for – it is a good competition. Last season we failed in the final. It is the only trophy we can win this season, so we have to give everything to get to the final and win it.”

Chelsea face a battle to finish in the top four following an inconsistent season and qualifying for Europe is crucial if they hope to keep their star players.

Conte is expected to leave at the end of the season but luckily for Chelsea fans, it seems Kante will be staying.
