A dramatic draw against Bournemouth showed everyone how shaky Arsenal is right now, but at the same time, clinching a point from 3-0 down was a feat never accomplished by the Gunners.

Preston North End took advantage of Arsenal’s shakiness from the first minute. Though Arsene Wenger rotated his squad till the extent that the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny were not even on the bench, the team which faced Preston was nonetheless still strong.

It was not wrong for fans to assume that Arsenal will have a comfortable win over the lower league team, afterall Arsenal currently sits 5th in the Premier League table. Preston however made Arsenal seemed inferior to them.

Preston played the game rough, but Arsenal had their chances.

First, Arsenal players are not daring enough to shoot. Great opportunities were wasted by players like Aaron Ramsey. In the match, Aaron Ramsey had a golden opportunity to tap in the ball quickly despite being surrounded by Preston players, but he did not and chose to drag.

Such incidents have occurred multiple times in Arsenal’s games and it has been a disappointing sight for Arsenal fans.

Wenger should definitely work on getting his players to shoot. Fans do not need a beautiful goal like Olivier Giroud’s scorpion goal, but fans need to see the team confident and able to score. Once in a while, superb goals will definitely attract more fans and keep everyone on the edge of their seats while watching the matches.

Second, Giroud’s scoring streak continues. Receiving the captain’s armband for the day, he had the duty of encouraging his team-mates to improve their game and win this match.

After the equaliser at the 46th minute, the Arsenal captain grabbed a late winner for the team to ensure they head into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Out of nine goals he scored, four of them came after the 85th minute, proving Giroud’s ability to be a lethal striker in the last few minutes of the game. He sparred Arsenal from an additional fixture and saved the team from dropping points in the Premier League.

Third, given Arsenal’s unsteady performance in the last few matches, the team will be hoping for a good draw on Monday. Arsenal are in no form to meet the top Premier League opponents.

Something worth celebrating will be the fact that Leicester City had helped to eliminate Everton from the cup, saving Arsenal from the chance of meeting the team which ended their unbeaten run.

Gabriel Paulista had a night to forget and fans are desperate to see Koscielny back in the starting line up.

Maitland-Niles did not seem to be a reliable right back in the eyes of most fans, let’s keep our fingers cross that Hector Bellerin’s injury during training was not a serious one.
