Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring the situation of Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, with a view to a summer transfer according to the Mirror.
Wilshere has been plagued with injuries during his career with the Gunners and the club want the England international to take a pay-cut on his £110,000-per-week wages to sign a new contract.
The 26-year-old has so far refused new terms which is heavily linked to appearances and goal bonuses which has sparked interest from clubs around the globe.
AC Milan and Everton are considered the front-runners for his signature but now Liverpool and Manchester City have emerged as potential suitors for the midfielder.
Liverpool raided Arsenal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer and the Englishman has quickly found his feet under Jurgen Klopp following a difficult start to life on Merseyside.
Anfield could be an attractive prospect for Wilshere following the success of his former team-mate with Liverpool also looking increasingly likely to qualify for next season’s Champions League while Arsenal are facing an uphill battle to finish in the top four.
League leaders Manchester City will also be an interesting alternative for the former Bolton midfielder following their outstanding season under Pep Guardiola.
Wilshere has stated his desire to remain at the club but the Gunners are refusing to meet his demands.
Would Jack Wilshere be a good signing for Liverpool or Manchester City?
