Tottenham are looking to buy Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon in a deal that could be worth around £12 million.
The transfer could potentially be a bargain buy for the Spurs considering Sessegnon’s form in the EFL Championship this season; he was one of Fulham’s better performers during their 3-0 FA Cup loss to Spurs back in February.
The 17-year old’s form this season has certainly caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham who are known to pick out talented youngsters, including the likes of Dele Alli.
A move to Tottenham under Pochettino, a manager who has nurtured Alli into one of the league’s best, could be a perfect move for Sessegnon. Pochettino’s record of working with younger players could appeal to the England youth international.
Sessegnon has scored five times in 25 games this season for Fulham, and it looks like he is set to play at a higher level in the Premier League next season.
The associated price tag also fits Daniel Levy’s tight budget and could turn out to be a great coup if the 17-year-old reaches his potential.
If Tottenham could complete the deal, it would be an excellent piece of business. However, Spurs will face competition from Liverpool to secure the promising youngster’s signature.
